This is the actual book |

This is her finished project |
This class assignment was a big thing for our girl her other school hadn't had any projects of this
caliber. The assignment was to take a book you read and either do a page from it or the cover picture. You had to use at least 5 different textured materials, it could not be construction paper, it had to be big enough to be seen across the room and your class mates critiqued it as well. Jill used a poster board to start, she drew the girl out of stock paper and glue her on to some colored stock paper, her characters hair was braided yarn (1), the shirt was silk material she had to cut out then glue onto the cut out (2) she had glass beds for the eye balls (3) she is holding an actual crayon (4) all the doodles on the sides were different crafty things she found to glue on to look like the doodles from the book (5,6,7,10) the yellow man face was a cut out piece of cardboard (11) then painted yellow (12) and painted with puffy paint the facials (13) oh and her eye lashes were glued on pieces of leather, the color behind the title is crayon and the the outline of her shirt and face is sharpie. She did well over the requirements and I have to be 100% honest.... this project was given a 2 week deadline, she worked on it nightly and turned it in 3 days before the due date with no help from us this was all her drawing things out, gathering supplies, laying it out, working on sizing and got a well deserved A+. They also had to describe the book in a presentation and answer class questions. Bravo Jillian Bravo!!!
Congratulations on a job well done! Your daughter is very creative. I hope she uses these talents in her future career. Then you can brag to everyone about your artistic daughter :)
ReplyDeleteshe does have some talent my husbands grandma was a very good artist and taught painting classes I have a few of her pieces so we think she might get it from there. I was proud she didn't wait until the last minute or not know what to do and just turn anything in.
DeleteWow she did a super great job on it. What a creative daughter you have. It is very cool looking.
ReplyDeleteIt was cool looking the pictures do not show the 3D effects of the contrast of the materials but it was something she hadn't yet had to do for grades so I was happy she didn't choke or not care about it, she did very much so thats the best part.
DeleteCongrats to Jill. She did a super job!!
ReplyDeleteHUGS!!!!
thanks Beth
DeleteHUGS!!! for you!!!
Bravo indeed, I love that she put her own thoughts and efforts into this! Learning how to follow instructions and carry out a project is useful in all aspects of life, and she did a great job!!
ReplyDeleteI agree totally with you Josie and that was one of my problems with her old school she wasn't getting these types of assignments to meet deadlines, problem solve, and create.
DeleteI kept waiting for her to ask for me to do something but nope she would ask for ribbon or buttons to use out of my craft things but not once for me to do it pretty proud.
Love it when a child experiences their own success, how awesome!! I can understand why you are swelling with pride :)
