6. AND most of all.... Have fun!

This Week's prompt: Memories

Do you have any memories that would be fascinating for someone else to read about in one hundred years? or even ten?

My memories are strong. I am 47 years old and I can still picture the house we lived in when I was 4 years old. I can even go back to being 2 but those are somewhat spotty. I can still remember the sound of my moms thick accent voice as she tried to pronounce certain words in English. My children will say they do not remember things when they were little and I know that was my fault they erased those thoughts and images. But I know they were later replaced with good memories just like they did for me, they are my happy thought/memory.

I do feel like I have a memory like an elephant, it has been said to me by numerous friends and family, but what does that saying really mean? Elephants make a journey that even in impossible conditions they do not forget how to get there and I know my story is that like the elephants it will be fascinating and it will be remembered at least by me.

  2. We rely on memories to validate us as well as our journey. The trick is in what we remember and what we perceived. We are shaped by both.

  4. I have selective memory and choose only to remember the happy times from the past. ;-) I hope your memories from this day forward are happy ones!

  6. I love that you remember all the back to your childhood... and it is funny my kids don't seem to remember much about theirs either... all the cute, fun little things I used to do with them....

  7. I remember much of my childhood too. And I'm only a youngish 40 something!! haha
I remember a lot of the good - that's mostly my family; but I have really bad memories/experience too. Both shaped me into ME; so I cannot let go of either. I just choose to focus on the more positive aspects so that I may have Joy now.

  9. I am so screwed up when it comes to memory. How is it I can remember some things and not other things? I can barely remember what I had for supper last night, yet I can remember things when I was a child....strange!

  10. I don't know why, but a lot of my most vivid memories are associated with smells. Me and my bionic nose, I tell you! :-D

Wonderful post! I enjoyed reading it. But then again, I always enjoy reading your posts!

  11. I don't have a very good memory. I remember bits an pieces. I wish it were better. There are so many things that I just can't remember. My exboyfriend had an awesome memory. He would see something I had on and could remember the last time I wore it, where we went and exactly what we talked about. Heck I was lucky to remember that we went somewhere :).
